The Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT), in collaboration with Boeing, conducted a Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) Workshop from 7 to 10 April 2026 at CAAT. The workshop was attended by CAAT aviation safety inspectors, safety personnel from Thai airlines, and representatives from relevant organizations.
The workshop aimed to enhance participants’ understanding of internationally recognized principles and best practices in identifying the true root causes of safety issues through Root Cause Analysis (RCA), as well as in developing systematic corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence of safety events.
Over the four-day program, participants engaged in both theoretical and practical sessions through case studies and group exercises. Key topics included problem identification and prioritization, application of analytical tools such as the 5 Whys and cause-and-effect diagrams, development of corrective measures, implementation planning, and performance monitoring.
In addition, participants presented their analysis and proposed solutions through group report-out sessions, which helped strengthen communication skills and collaboration between the regulator and aviation industry stakeholders.
This workshop reflects the strong collaboration between CAAT and the aviation industry in enhancing aviation safety capabilities and supporting Thailand’s continuous improvement in safety oversight in alignment with international standards.
