The Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) participated in the 8th Singapore–Thailand Dialogue on Aviation Cooperation, held from 23 to 24 July 2026 at the office of the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) in Singapore. The meeting was held within the framework of the Memorandum of Cooperation (MOC) between the two countries to promote and further strengthen bilateral cooperation in aviation.
During the opening session, Air Chief Marshal Manat Chavanaprayoon, Director General of CAAT, and Mr. Han Kok Juan, Director-General of CAAS, shared their visions for strengthening aviation cooperation and reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing aviation standards in response to regional and global developments. Representatives from aviation-related organisations of both countries also attended the meeting.
On this occasion, the Director General of CAAT highlighted cooperation in Advanced Air Mobility (AAM), including Thailand’s preparations to host an upcoming AAM conference. He also invited Singapore to participate and exchange knowledge and experience, with the aim of supporting the safe and sustainable development of AAM in the region.
The meeting was divided into five main working groups:
- Aviation Safety Working Group
- Aviation Security Working Group
- Air Transport Development Working Group
- Air Traffic Management Working Group
- Unmanned Aircraft Systems Working Group
Key topics discussed included enhancing aviation safety and security oversight, airworthiness certification and personnel licensing, promoting safety culture and Just Culture, developing air traffic and information management systems, preparing air traffic management contingency arrangements, and applying artificial intelligence (AI) in air navigation services.
In addition, both sides exchanged views on the regulation and development of unmanned aircraft systems, cooperation in Advanced Air Mobility (AAM), the development of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), and the impact of international developments on the aviation industry.
The meeting reflected CAAT’s important role in advancing regional aviation cooperation and reaffirmed the strong partnership between Thailand and Singapore. Both countries remain committed to working together to enhance aviation standards and support the safe, efficient, and sustainable growth of the aviation industry.
