On 24 August 2026, Air Chief Marshal Manat Chavanaprayoon, Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT), led a CAAT delegation in discussions with the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC) in Shanghai, People’s Republic of China. Representatives from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) also participated in the discussions and exchanged information.
The discussions aimed to exchange information and experiences regarding COMAC’s operations, China’s aircraft manufacturing industry, and Chinese aircraft products, as well as to exchange perspectives on the aviation sector and explore opportunities to further strengthen cooperation between the aviation authorities of Thailand and China.
Through the discussions, CAAT gained valuable information and insights into the capabilities and development of China’s aircraft manufacturing industry, as well as perspectives on aviation standards and regulatory oversight. These insights can contribute to the further development of aviation standards and regulatory oversight in Thailand, while also providing opportunities to explore and strengthen future cooperation in the aviation sector between Thailand and China.
The discussions reflect CAAT’s commitment to promoting the exchange of knowledge, technology, and experience with international aviation authorities and industry stakeholders, with the aim of enhancing Thailand’s capabilities and supporting the continued development of the aviation industry.
Furthermore, strengthening aviation cooperation between Thailand and China is in line with the Government’s policy of promoting relations and cooperation with the People’s Republic of China, particularly in the areas of economic development, trade, investment, and air connectivity. Such cooperation will contribute to greater connectivity and the continued growth of the aviation industries of both countries.
CAAT remains committed to promoting and strengthening aviation cooperation between Thailand and the People’s Republic of China, while applying the information and experience gained through such exchanges to further enhance Thailand’s aviation regulatory system, ensure alignment with international standards, and support the sustainable growth of the aviation industry in the future.
