Period of Validity of Medical Assessment
The following licence holders shall have medical examination done by the designated AME/SAME in accordance with the specified period as the following
(1) Every 24months: For the following Licence Holders
(a) Student Pilot Licence;
(b) Private Pilot Licence: Aeroplane, Airship, Helicopter and Powered-lift;
(c) Glider Pilot Licence;
(d) Free Balloon Pilot Licence;
(e) Ultralight Pilot Licence;
(f) Air Traffic Controller Licence;
(g) Student Air Traffic Controller Licence.
(2) Every 12 months: For the following Licence Holders
(a) Commercial Pilot Licence: Aeroplane, Airship, Helicopter and Powered-lift;
(b) Multi-crew Pilot Licence: Aeroplane;
(c) Airline Transport Pilot Licence: Aeroplane, Helicopter and Powered-lift;
(d) Flight Navigator Licence;
(e) Flight Engineer Licence;
(f) Licence holders in (a) who have passed their 50th birthday.
(3) Every 6 months: For the following Licence Holders
(a) The licence holders in (2) (a) (b) and (c), who are engaged in commercial air transport operations, have passed their 60th birthday.
(b) The licence holders in (2) (a) and (c), who are engaged in single-crew commercial air transport operations carrying passengers, have passed their 40th birthday.
(4) Renewal of Medical Assessment at the Particularly Assigned Interval. For the following licence holders who have passed their 40th, 50th or 60th birthday
(a) The licence holders in (1)
(b) The licence holders in (2) (a) (b) and (c)
In case that the licence holders do not have medical examination done at the specified time and interval, or have the medical examination done as required but such medical examination reports that the health condition does not meet medical standards specified in the Regulation of the Civil Aviation Board, the licence of such holder shall be temporarily invalid until the licence holder has the medical examination done and the medical examination report indicates that such health condition meets medical standards specified in the Regulation of the Civil Aviation Board.
The specific time for the renewal of medical assessment according to paragraph 1 shall be started on the date that the licence holders have passed their 40th, 50th or 60th birthday, depending on each particular case. Exception is for the case that the last specified time for medical examination of the licence holders before their 40th, 50th or 60th birthday, depending on each particular case, will reach the schedule before the specified time for the renewal of medical assessment, such last specified time for medical examination shall be considered as the last date for the renewal of medical assessment.
