CAAT Welcomes Senate Standing Committee on Transport for Strategic Dialogue Aimed at Advancing Aviation Security and Sustainability

On 13 June 2025, Air Chief Marshal Manat Chavanaprayoon, Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT), together with the executives, welcomed Mr. Wuthichart Kalyanamitra, Chairman of the Senate Standing Committee on Transportation, and members of the Committee at the Montreal Meeting Room, CAAT Headquarters, for a high-level discussion and exchange of views.

This meeting served as a key platform highlighting CAAT’s crucial role as the national regulatory body for civil aviation, entrusted with setting standards, overseeing compliance, and promoting the development of aviation safety, security, and service quality in line with international benchmarks and aligning with the Thai government’s policy to promote the country as an aviation hub of the region.

During the session, CAAT provided a comprehensive briefing on its organizational background, legal mandates, key achievements, strategic vision, and long-term development plans. Emphasis was placed on proactive regulatory approaches and the continuous enhancement of aviation standards to accommodate the growth of the industry and respond to the evolving needs of the public and business sectors.

The dialogue also allowed the Senate Standing Committee to share insights, raise observations, and offer policy recommendations that could support the formulation of national strategies in air transport. This collaborative effort between the legislative and regulatory sectors underscores a shared commitment to advancing Thailand’s air transport system toward greater safety, security, and long-term sustainability.

This engagement marks an important step forward in fostering inter-agency cooperation that will help shape adaptive policies and legislation, enabling Thailand’s aviation sector to grow in a balanced and sustainable manner in the years ahead.
