On June 2, 2025, Air Chief Marshal Manat Chavanaprayoon, Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT), attended the launch event of Emirates’ new flight route connecting Da Nang, Vietnam, and Siem Reap, Cambodia, with Bangkok serving as a key transit hub.
On this occasion, the CAAT Director General extended congratulations to Emirates and praised the airline for its leadership in the global aviation industry. He also expressed appreciation for Emirates’ decision to position Thailand as a strategic hub in Asia, aligning with the Thai government’s policy to promote the country as an aviation hub of the region.
This new route is expected to play a vital role in increasing the volume of transit passengers in Thailand, while also strengthening regional ties in travel, tourism, and trade between Thailand, Vietnam, and Cambodia. Furthermore, it contributes to broader economic growth and connectivity under the ASEAN cooperation framework.
