September 25, 2025, Air Chief Marshal Manat Chavanaprayoon, Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT), held discussions with Mr. Peter Bombay, Senior Advisor and Chair of the EU Air Safety Committee of the European Commission, during the 42nd Session of the ICAO Assembly at ICAO Headquarters in Montreal, Canada.
During the meeting, Mr. Bombay congratulated Thailand for its continuous progress and enhancement of aviation safety oversight, which enabled the country to regain Category I status from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and to achieve positive results under ICAO’s Universal Safety Oversight Audit Programme – Continuous Monitoring Approach (USOAP CMA).
CAAT expressed its appreciation for the recognition and reaffirmed its commitment to further strengthening aviation safety oversight standards, thereby fostering continued confidence within the international community.
