On February 10, 2025, Mr. Sutthipong Kongpool, Director-General of CAATalong with CAAT representatives, attended the International Women’s Day Celebration hosted by the ICAO APAC Office. This event aimed to celebrate gender equality in the aviation sector, aligning with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal 5 and the resolution of the ICAO Assembly A39-30, the ICAO Gender Equality Programme promotes women’s participation in the global aviation sector.
During the event, the Director-General of CAAT highlighted the promotion of women’s roles, from training and capacity building to leadership positions in aviation. He emphasized the growing role of women in the aviation industry and the need to empower women to shape the future of aviation.
The event invited representatives from various aviation agencies and educational institutions. Additionally, female executives from aviation organizations were invited to share their career success stories in aviation.
Mrs. Rusnee Mustapa, the Manager of Aviation Security and Facilitation at CAAT, who is also a national aviation security inspector and an ICAO-qualified aviation security inspector and instructor, represented CAAT. Mrs. Rusnee shared her career journey as a civil aviation regulator, emphasizing the values she upholds in her work. Her story served as an inspiration for young women and female aviation professionals.
