On March 25, 2025, CAAT and Boeing jointly organized a workshop on the Cape Town Convention, formally known as the Convention on International Interests in Mobile Equipment. The objective of the workshop was to enhance understanding of the Convention, which aims to strengthen the legal framework for aircraft financing and leasing. The event was attended by Mr. Sarun Benjanirat and Mr. Kajonpat Maklin, Deputy Directors-General of CAAT, along with representatives from relevant agencies and stakeholders, including the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Finance, judicial authorities, airlines, and financial institutions. Participants had the opportunity to exchange views on the subject.
Thailand has not yet ratified the Cape Town Convention. However, CAAT will continue gathering inputs from stakeholders and conducting further studies to determine the country’s position on the Convention.
