From 26 to 28 March 2025, the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) hosted the Mutual Recognition Arrangement on Maintenance and Repair Stations (MRA-145) – Impact Assessment Task Force Meeting, attended by civil aviation regulatory authorities from ASEAN member states.
The objective of the meeting was to advance the development and implementation of the MRA-145, which aims to enable mutual recognition of repair station certifications among ASEAN countries. This initiative seeks to eliminate redundant inspections and certifications, thereby reducing regulatory burdens, enhancing cooperation, and improving the efficiency of aviation safety oversight across the region.
This meeting also served as a key platform for demonstrating CAAT’s leadership role within the ASEAN aviation community, reinforcing Thailand’s image as a regional aviation hub. In addition, it provided an important opportunity for dialogue, information exchange, and the establishment of common practices among ASEAN civil aviation authorities—fostering the development of a more standardized and effective regulatory framework for aircraft maintenance within the region.
