CAAT Meets with Emirates Executives to Advance Aviation Cooperation, Medical Tourism, MRO Opportunities, and AAM 2026 at Dubai Airshow 2025

Air Chief Marshal Manat Chavanaprayoon, Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) attended the Dubai Airshow 2025 held from 19–21 November 2025 at Dubai World Central, United Arab Emirates.

During the visit, Mr. Chanin Kanhirun, Member of the Civil Aviation Board (CAB) and Advisor to the Board of Commissioners of CAAT, joined the mission to support high-level policy discussions and international cooperation.

While attending the event, Air Chief Marshal Manat and Mr. Chanin met with senior executives of Emirates Airline, including:

Mr. Marceio Garcia – Vice President, Aeropolitical Affairs, International Affairs

Mr. Jeff Bevan – Manager, Aeropolitical Affairs, International Affairs

Mr. Orhan Abbas – Senior Vice President, Commercial Operations (Far East)

Mr. Mohammed Alwahedi – Area Manager Thailand, Myanmar & Laos

Key discussion points included:

• Promoting medical tourism by linking Emirates’ global network with Thailand’s world-class healthcare sector, as the country has welcomed over 63 million visitors this year

• Exploring MRO collaboration to strengthen Thailand’s capacity as a regional maintenance and repair hub

• Updates on the ASEAN Seamless Sky initiative to improve regional airspace efficiency

• Discussion on Emirates’ expanding network, particularly U.S. routes from Thailand, including: Salt Lake City and Boston, Both routes continue to show strong demand and positive growth trends, highlighting the increasing

• Exploring special travel arrangements for CAAT officials

• Inviting Emirates to partner or sponsor the ICAO AAM Symposium 2026 in Bangkok

This engagement highlights Thailand’s growing cooperation with global aviation partners and supports the nation’s strategy to enhance competitiveness in aviation, tourism, and healthcare at both regional and global levels.
