Air Chief Marshal Manat Chavanaprayoon, Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT), attended the Dubai Airshow 2025 held from 19–21 November 2025 at Dubai World Central, United Arab Emirates. Joining the mission was Mr. Chanin Kanhirun, Member of the Civil Aviation Board (CAB) and Advisor to the Board of Commissioners of CAAT, to support discussions on policy development and international cooperation.
During the event, the Thai delegation met and held discussions with senior executives from Archer Aviation, one of the world’s leading developers of electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing (eVTOL) aircraft. The delegation was received by Mr. Nikhil Goel, Chief Commercial Officer, a key global leader in Urban Air Mobility (UAM) and developer of Archer’s highly anticipated eVTOL aircraft, the Midnight.
The meeting focused on several key areas, including acknowledging Archer’s significant progress in developing the Midnight eVTOL and its leadership role in advancing UAM worldwide. Both parties also explored potential technical cooperation and opportunities for pilot projects in Thailand, along with the concept of establishing an “AAM Sandbox Thailand” to support cutting-edge aviation innovations and new mobility models. In addition, CAAT extended an invitation for Archer to participate in the ICAO Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) Symposium 2026, which Thailand will host, to foster global knowledge exchange and engagement with next-generation aircraft developers.
This engagement marks another important milestone in advancing Thailand’s development of Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) and enhancing the nation’s readiness to support eVTOL technologies and next-generation air transport systems. Such efforts are expected to play a vital role in driving Thailand toward becoming a modern aviation hub in the region.
