CAAT and DGAC Discuss Thailand–France Aviation Cooperation at the Changi Aviation Summit

February 2, 2026, Air Chief Marshal Manat Chavanaprayoon, Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT), held a discussion with Mr. Chems Chkioua, Director General of the French Civil Aviation Authority (Direction Générale de l’Aviation Civile: DGAC France), on the occasion of their participation in the Changi Aviation Summit, taking place on 2 February 2026 in the Republic of Singapore.

The meeting served as an introduction and an opportunity for both parties to become acquainted, as well as to exchange views on ways to further promote civil aviation cooperation between Thailand and France. CAAT and DGAC France have been cooperating under a Memorandum of Understanding on Technical Cooperation, which covers collaboration in areas such as safety oversight, unmanned aircraft systems, cybersecurity, and other related fields.

On this occasion, the Director General of CAAT also congratulated Mr. Chkioua on his recent appointment and reaffirmed Thailand’s commitment to enhancing its civil aviation standards in line with the international standards of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). Mr. Chkioua expressed his congratulations on Thailand’s excellent results under the ICAO USOAP CMA audit for civil aviation safety oversight.

The meeting reaffirmed the close relationship and cooperation in civil aviation between Thailand and France, with both sides committed to enhancing aviation safety standards, developing human resource capabilities, and strengthening the civil aviation systems of both countries in a sustainable manner over the long term.
