On February 3, 2026, Air Chief Marshal Manat Chavanaprayoon, Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT), visited the Airbus exhibition booth during the Singapore Airshow 2026, held in the Republic of Singapore. He was welcomed by Airbus executives, including Mr. Wouter van Wersch (Executive Vice President International), Mr. Alexandre Sanchez (Director of Airbus Helicopters), Mr. Olivier Michalon (Executive Vice President Global Business, Airbus Helicopters), Ms. Maria Martinez (SVP, Head of Tanker, Transport & Mission Programmes, Air Power – Airbus Defence and Space), and Mr. Bert Porteman (President of Airbus Thailand).
During the visit, CAAT received briefings on aircraft technologies, sustainability innovations, greenhouse gas emission reduction initiatives, and Airbus’ perspectives on future developments in the aviation industry, which play a significant role in the global civil aviation system.
The visit to the Airbus booth enhanced CAAT’s understanding of modern aviation technology trends and provided valuable insights to support Thailand’s aviation policy formulation and regulatory oversight, in line with global aviation industry developments and the sector’s sustainable development goals.
