The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) has officially announced the upcoming Second ICAO Advanced Air Mobility Symposium (AAM 2026), scheduled to take place from 1–3 December 2026 in Bangkok, Thailand. ICAO Secretary General Mr. Juan Carlos Salazar emphasized the significance of the symposium as a global platform aimed at advancing next-generation aviation from strategic vision toward practical implementation.
Held under the theme “From a Vision to Implementation: Enabling Advanced Air Mobility Ecosystem,” AAM 2026 reflects the ongoing transformation of the aviation industry toward Advanced Air Mobility (AAM), driven by digital technologies, automation, and emerging aircraft innovations. Key discussions will focus on aviation infrastructure development, governance and regulatory frameworks to support new technologies, the establishment of safety standards, as well as enabling sustainable air connectivity across both urban and remote areas.
The ICAO Secretary General has invited regulators, aviation industry leaders, technology developers, and academic institutions worldwide to convene in Bangkok to exchange knowledge and collectively shape a future aviation system that is safe, resilient, and seamless.
Thailand’s selection as host country underscores its proactive role in supporting the advancement of Advanced Air Mobility at both regional and global levels. It also highlights Thailand’s readiness to position itself as a regional hub for aviation, innovation, and modern regulatory development, aligned with the evolving trends of the global aviation industry.
