\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Thailand has reaffirmed its commitment to becoming a regional leader in Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) during the 2nd Asia-Pacific Regulators Meeting on AAM, held as part of the High-Level Aviation Week in Singapore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Air Chief Marshal Manat Chavanaprayoon, Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT), joined aviation regulators from across the region in launching the Asia-Pacific\u2019s first joint Reference Materials for the regulation of electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft and unmanned aircraft systems (UAS). This milestone reflects a shared effort to establish a robust, safe, and collaborative framework for governing AAM technologies across the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
CAAT expressed its full support for the adoption and adaptation of these guidelines at the national level, ensuring that Thailand\u2019s AAM development is not only effective and future-ready, but also aligned with the country\u2019s unique context and long-term sustainability goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On this occasion, the Director General also presented Thailand\u2019s national strategy for integrating eVTOL and UAS technologies into the country\u2019s broader transportation ecosystem\u2014aimed at enhancing urban connectivity, reducing congestion, and improving the quality of public services. He emphasized the importance of regional cooperation in developing a harmonized and forward-looking regulatory environment for emerging air mobility solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Most notably, CAAT officially announced that Thailand will host the next ICAO AAM Symposium in 2026\u2014marking the first time the event will be held in Asia. This significant step underscores Thailand\u2019s proactive role in shaping the future of air mobility and aviation innovation across the Asia-Pacific region.<\/p>\n\n\n
