{"id":171428,"date":"2025-05-30T02:23:00","date_gmt":"2025-05-29T19:23:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.caat.or.th\/?post_type=caat_media&#038;p=171428"},"modified":"2025-09-28T02:26:11","modified_gmt":"2025-09-27T19:26:11","slug":"171428","status":"publish","type":"caat_media","link":"https:\/\/www.caat.or.th\/en\/caat-media\/171428\/","title":{"rendered":"CAAT Collaborates with USTDA, TSA, and U.S. Department of State to Advance Aviation Security and Airport Master Planning Initiatives"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; On May 30, 2025, the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT), led by Air Chief Marshal Manat Chavanaprayoon, Director General of CAAT, along with representatives from the Aerodrome Standards Department (AGA), Air Navigation Operations Management Department (AND), and Aviation Security and Facilitation Standards Department (SFD), held a meeting with the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA), represented by Mr. Kevin Toohers, Regional Manager for Southeast Asia and the Pacific. Joining the meeting were Ms. Gloria Reyes from the U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and the U.S. Department of State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; The purpose of the meeting was to discuss progress in planning the Indo-Pacific Aviation Security Technology Symposium, scheduled for 2025. This regional symposium, co-hosted by CAAT, TSA, and USTDA, aims to promote the exchange of knowledge and best practices in aviation security technologies and to strengthen international cooperation across the Indo-Pacific region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, the parties reviewed ongoing collaborations between CAAT and USTDA in two key technical assistance projects:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Airport Master Plans Technical Assistance Project, which is currently under review and in preparation for official agreement and signing.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Air Navigation Performance Assessment and Monitoring Technical Assistance Project, for which USTDA has approved a grant.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>During the meeting, CAAT also raised the possibility of establishing a U.S. Pre-Clearance Check system at Thai international airports, allowing U.S. immigration procedures to be conducted prior to departure from Thailand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The session concluded with an exchange of ideas on additional areas for future collaboration, reinforcing the shared commitment of Thailand and the United States to promoting sustainable civil aviation development.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"hero-carousel-with-thumbnail-navigation wp-block-meta-box-hero-carousel-with-thumbnail-navigation\" id=\"mb-block-fb8d1b8d-3f34-49c1-9ab5-68a6218f0ad5\">\n\t\t\t\t<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">Hero Carousel With Thumbnail Navigation.
