The flight was witnessed by Air Chief Marshal Manat Chavanaprayoon, Director General of CAAT, as a reaffirmation of Thailand’s readiness to accommodate new forms of aviation operations in the future. The event was also attended by members of the Board of Directors of SCB X Public Company Limited, together with Mr. Han Kok Juan, Director-General of the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS), who observed the successful demonstration.

The demonstration flight was authorized as an Experimental Flight by CAAT’s Unmanned Aircraft Standards Division, in full compliance with the applicable regulatory requirements.

The eVTOL aircraft demonstrated was a passenger-grade unmanned aerial vehicle developed by eHang, featuring a maximum design speed of 130 km/h, a flight range of 30 km, and the capability to carry two passengers. As a pioneering model under the Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) ecosystem, the aircraft represents a major milestone in transforming future air transport and urban mobility solutions.

CAAT noted that this demonstration is part of ongoing collaborative efforts to position Thailand as an Aviation Hub of the region. The authority is currently preparing to host the ICAO Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) Symposium 2026, scheduled for 30 November – 4 December 2026 in Thailand. The symposium will serve as a global platform to showcase the country’s technological readiness, regulatory progress, and strong commitment to advancing the future of aviation.

Air Chief Marshal Manat Chavanaprayoon, Director General of CAAT, stated: “CAAT is committed to acting as both regulator and enabler to ensure that next-generation aviation technologies can be realized safely and effectively, in alignment with the government’s goal of establishing Thailand as a regional Aviation Hub.”

The demonstration marks another significant step forward in showcasing the feasibility of integrating eVTOL and AAM systems into Thailand’s aviation landscape—strengthening safety confidence, amplifying technological momentum, and paving the way toward a modern and sustainable future for Thai aviation.

Hero Carousel With Thumbnail Navigation.
