On 12 June 2026, Air Chief Marshal Manat Chavanaprayoon, Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT), welcomed Mr. Sheldon Hee, Regional Vice President Asia-Pacific, and Mr. Yongyut Lujintanon, Area Manager Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Myanmar, from the International Air Transport Association (IATA) during their visit to the CAAT headquarters. The meeting provided an opportunity for both parties to exchange views and discuss key issues related to the development of the aviation industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the discussion, both sides shared perspectives on the Flexible Use of Airspace (FUA) concept to enhance the efficiency of airspace utilization, as well as initiatives to strengthen Air Connectivity in support of the continued growth of air transportation. They also discussed Slot Coordination strategies to effectively accommodate increasing air travel demand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, the meeting covered aviation economic regulatory approaches aimed at balancing the interests of passengers and airlines. Discussions also focused on the promotion of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), including challenges related to SAF pricing and its role in advancing the aviation industry’s long-term sustainability goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
