The event was officially opened by Air Chief Marshal Manat Chavanaprayoon, Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand, who delivered the opening remarks and outlined CAAT’s policy direction for strengthening Thailand’s regulatory framework for unmanned aircraft systems. The consultation was held at The Barn, 1st Floor, Best Western Chatuchak Hotel, Bangkok.

The consultation forms part of CAAT’s ongoing initiative to enhance the UAS Portal, which serves as a key platform for the regulation and oversight of unmanned aircraft operations in Thailand. The upgraded system is intended to provide more efficient and user-friendly services for the public, drone operators, and relevant government agencies by streamlining regulatory processes and improving the efficiency of flight authorization. A key focus of the development is the integration of operational workflows among agencies responsible for reviewing and approving flight operations, enabling a more connected and coordinated authorization process capable of supporting increasingly diverse and complex UAS operations.

During the event, CAAT presented an overview of the current UAS Portal, including progress on system integration with relevant government agencies. Participants jointly discussed operational challenges, system limitations, and recommendations from users. The feedback received will serve as valuable input for further enhancing the platform to better support both regulatory authorities and system users.

CAAT also introduced the Three-Year UAS Portal Development Plan (2027–2029), which aims to transform the platform from a regulatory and authorization service into a comprehensive digital infrastructure capable of supporting the growing volume and complexity of unmanned aircraft operations. The roadmap also outlines the long-term evolution of the system toward Unmanned Aircraft System Traffic Management (UTM), enabling future capabilities for data sharing, airspace management, and the safe and efficient coordination of UAS operations.

This initiative reflects CAAT’s commitment to establishing a modern, integrated, and future-ready regulatory framework for unmanned aircraft in Thailand. Through close collaboration and coordination among all stakeholders, CAAT aims to build a safe, efficient, and sustainable UAS ecosystem that is well prepared to accommodate the continued advancement of unmanned aviation technologies.

Hero Carousel With Thumbnail Navigation.
