{"id":213983,"date":"2026-07-18T13:11:33","date_gmt":"2026-07-18T06:11:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.caat.or.th\/caat-media\/caat-%e0%b8%88%e0%b8%b1%e0%b8%94%e0%b8%aa%e0%b8%b1%e0%b8%a1%e0%b8%a1%e0%b8%99%e0%b8%b2%e0%b9%80%e0%b8%8a%e0%b8%b4%e0%b8%87%e0%b8%9b%e0%b8%8f%e0%b8%b4%e0%b8%9a%e0%b8%b1%e0%b8%95%e0%b8%b4%e0%b8%81\/"},"modified":"2026-08-04T08:14:21","modified_gmt":"2026-08-04T01:14:21","slug":"213983","status":"publish","type":"caat_media","link":"https:\/\/www.caat.or.th\/en\/caat-media\/213983\/","title":{"rendered":"CAAT Held Workshop to Review Aviation Inspector Competencies"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">CAAT Workshop on Aviation Inspectors\u2019 Competencies on 16 July 2026, the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) organized, in collaboration with the French Civil Aviation Authority (DGAC), a workshop entitled &#8220;Review of Aviation Inspector Competency Framework&#8221; to exchange about the strengthening of CAAT inspectors\u2019 competencies, in line with the recommendations of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This workshop was a great opportunity to share vision, knowledge and experience about training and development of aviation personnel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mr. Kajonpat Maklin, Deputy Director General &#8211; Safety, launched the workshop sharing with the participants his vision of inspectors\u2019 training and presenting to the participants the draft of a new training policy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The workshop also allowed to review collaboratively with the participants the draft of a competency framework for inspectors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This framework was prepared to measure the level of performance of inspectors during initial training and along their career. Such competency-based approach called \u201cCompetency-Based Training and Assessment or CBTA\u201d is more and more common for aviation personnel as Pilots, Aircraft Maintenance Engineers and Air Traffic Controllers. This new approach ensures that personnel are well-equipped to perform their duties in every possible situation they may face.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The workshop was rich in exchanges and proposals thanks to the participation of experienced inspectors and trainers from CAAT departments (Human Capital, Airworthiness, Operations, Personnel Licensing, Aerodromes, Air Navigation Services, Unmanned Aircraft Systems).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thanks to DGAC, the workshop was enriched by the participation of Mr. Jean-Michel Restout, project manager of CAAT-DGAC cooperation project, who delivered presentations and shared experience about training and development of aviation inspector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>CAAT remains committed to the continuous development of its personnel competencies to serve the safety and security oversight of civil aviation industry and reinforce confidence in the country&#8217;s aviation system over the long term.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"hero-carousel-with-thumbnail-navigation wp-block-meta-box-hero-carousel-with-thumbnail-navigation\" id=\"mb-block-fb799890-1d90-4394-aa2d-07886de273e4\">\n\t\t\t\t<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">Hero Carousel With Thumbnail Navigation.
