Certificate of Airworthiness (C of A)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

What is Certificate of Airworthiness?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In order to prove that the aircraft is in airworthy condition, safe for operations also proper maintained per approved Type Certificate, each aircraft is required to have the valid Certificate of Airworthiness or C of A which to compile with Thailand AIR regulation,\u00a0Section 16, Sections 34 to Sections 41 of the Air Navigation Act B.E. 2497<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

C of A is an official certificate issued by CAAT as an Authority in Thai Civil Aviation. For applicant who shall request for C of A issuance, please see the detail below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Types of Certificate of Airworthiness<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

How long does C of A Valid?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Certificate of Airworthiness has its own validity period depending on the type of the C of A and the aircraft, refer Section 41\/68 of the Air Navigation Act B.E. 2497<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

            The process consists of 3 phases

            What will happen?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
            1. Application phase<\/strong><\/summary>\n

            1.1 Submit the request together with the supporting documents to
            The Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT)<\/strong>

            10900\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0The assigned CAAT inspector will consider checking the documents and record in the system to be able to track the document later.

            1.2 Submit the request together with the supporting documents via EMPIC<\/strong>. The assigned CAAT inspector will consider checking the document through the system. The applicant can be tracked manually through the EMPIC.

            1.3 After the assigned CAAT inspector have received the documents<\/strong>. The assigned CAAT inspector will proceed to check the completeness of document. If the request is completely correct or in the case that the request is found incomplete the assigned CAAT inspector will notify the applicant to send additional documents. In which the assigned CAAT inspector will notify the applicant within 10 working days and will take further steps if the applicant has already submitted additional documents (if any). If the applicant does not send the additional documents correctly and completely. The assigned CAAT inspector may consider returning the request to the applicant

            1.4 For the applicant who submit the request via EMPIC<\/strong>. After the assigned CAAT inspector received the documents, the assigned CAAT inspector will contact the applicant through the system within a period not exceeding 10 working days if the document is completely correct the assign CAAT inspector will take further steps. In the case that the request is incorrect or incomplete the assigned CAAT inspector will notify the applicant to send additional documents or may reject the request and specify the reason in the system(In case C of A renewal, the application package shall be submitted to the Airworthiness and Aircraft Engineering Department not less than 60 days before current C of A expire date)

            2. Inspection phase<\/strong><\/summary>\n

            2.1 If the application document is completely correct.<\/strong> The assign CAAT inspector will contact the applicant to make an appointment for the inspection date and time.

            2.2 After the inspection date is set<\/strong>, the Inspection fee Invoice will be sent to the applicant via email within a period not exceeding 5 working days, in which the applicant must proceed to pay and notify the assigned CAAT inspector with evidence as a receipt via email or other channels.

            2.3 At the inspection day, the assigned CAAT inspector will take time to proceed the inspection approximately not more than 6 working days<\/strong> (excluding travel days) as detailed in\u00a0estimate the duration and number of CAAT inspector to be used for inspection in the annex of\u00a0CAAT announcement relating to the administrative fee B.E. 2561<\/a>\u00a0under Section 5\/1 of the Air Navigation Act of 2497 B.E. 2560,\u00a0<\/strong>which will be divided the inspections is a document inspection and aircraft inspection. When the inspection is complete, the assigned CAAT inspector will summarize the inspection results on the last day of the inspection.

            2.4 If there is any finding(s)<\/strong>, the assigned CAAT inspector will notify the applicant through the final inspection report on the last day of inspection, which the applicant should proceed to correct those findings within a period not exceeding 60 days and report the results of the findings correction together with the evidence documents through the electronic system of the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand. If the applicant is unable to use electronic system of the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand, the applicant can use other channels, such as email, to report the results of the findings correction.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n

            3. Certification phase<\/strong><\/summary>\n

            3.1 After the assigned CAAT inspector reviewing the documents and evidence of the corrective action of the applicant (if any)<\/strong>, the assigned CAAT inspector will notify the applicant and proceed the internal coordination to issue invoices for certification fee and sent to the applicant via email within a period not exceeding 5 working days after notifying the applicant. The applicant must proceed to pay the certification fee and the applicant will receive a receipt as evidence via email.

            3.2 The applicant must proceed to pay the certification fee<\/strong>, which the applicant will receive a receipt as evidence via email.

            3.3 After the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand has issued a receipt<\/strong>. The assigned CAAT inspector will proceed to request the approval from the Director of Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand to sign and issue a certificate of airworthiness within a period not exceeding 10 working days, the assigned CAAT inspector will notify the result of the consideration and make an appointment via email or other channels to deliver the certificate of airworthiness to the applicant.
