A Letter of Validation for TC or STC is a prerequisite for obtaining a Certificate of Airworthiness for an aircraft to be registered in Thailand (Standard or Special Category 1).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading is-style-caat-heading-underline\">Reference Regulations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.caat.or.th\/en\/laws-regulations\/174240\/\" title=\"\">Air Navigation Act B.E. 2497 amended by the Emergency Decree Amending the Air Navigation Act B.E. 2497 B.E. 2558 Section 41\/14<\/a><\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.caat.or.th\/laws-regulations\/132440\/\" title=\"\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">CAAT Requirement No. 63 on Rules and Procedures to&nbsp;validate&nbsp;a Type Certificate of an Aircraft or Supplemental Type Certificate&nbsp;issued by a&nbsp;State Party to the Convention or country entering into an agreement with Thailand in order to apply for a Certificate of Airworthiness<\/span><\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.caat.or.th\/laws-regulations\/164461\/\" title=\"\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">CAAT Requirement No. 96&nbsp;on Airworthiness Standards<\/span><\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.caat.or.th\/laws-regulations\/164453\/\" title=\"\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">CAAT Requirement No. 97&nbsp;on Aircraft Environmental Protection Standards (TCAR AIR Part \u2013 34)<\/span><\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.caat.or.th\/laws-regulations\/164447\/\" title=\"\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">CAAT Requirement No. 98&nbsp;on&nbsp;Aircraft Noise Certificates<\/span><\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.caat.or.th\/laws-regulations\/168646\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Notification of The Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand on Forms for the Application for and the Issuance of the Letter of Acceptance of Foreign Type Certificate or Foreign Supplemental Type Certificate for the Purpose of Applying for a Certificate of Airworthiness for Aircraft Registered in Thailand, B.E. 2568 (2025)\">Notification of The Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand on Forms for the Application for and the Issuance of the Letter of Acceptance of Foreign Type Certificate or Foreign Supplemental Type Certificate for the Purpose of Applying for a Certificate of Airworthiness for Aircraft Registered in Thailand, B.E. 2568 (2025)<\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading is-style-caat-heading-underline\">Application and required documents<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The letter of validation will only be issued for the aircraft type that has not previously been validated. Prior to applying for type acceptance, the applicant should verify whether the aircraft type has already been validated by CAAT at&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.caat.or.th\/en\/certificates-licenses\/aircraft\/acceptance-of-type\/\" title=\"\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">https:\/\/www.caat.or.th\/en\/certificates-licenses\/aircraft\/acceptance-of-type<\/span><\/a>. The letter of validation can be obtained by submitting the application along with the supporting documents listed below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Intention letter<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.caat.or.th\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/%E0%B9%81%E0%B8%9A%E0%B8%9A%E0%B8%84%E0%B8%B3%E0%B8%82%E0%B8%AD%E0%B8%AB%E0%B8%99%E0%B8%B1%E0%B8%87%E0%B8%AA%E0%B8%B7%E0%B8%AD%E0%B8%A3%E0%B8%B1%E0%B8%9A%E0%B8%A3%E0%B8%AD%E0%B8%87%E0%B9%83%E0%B8%9A%E0%B8%A3%E0%B8%B1%E0%B8%9A%E0%B8%A3%E0%B8%AD%E0%B8%87%E0%B9%81%E0%B8%9A%E0%B8%9A.pdf\">Completed <\/a><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.caat.or.th\/laws-regulations\/168646\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"application form\">application form<\/a><\/span>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The application for a private aircraft must be signed by the aircraft owner, or under a Power of Attorney (POA)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The application for an AOC aircraft must be signed by the AOC holder, as the possessor<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Copy of the Type Certificate or Supplemental Type Certificate<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Copy of Type Certificate Data Sheet (TCDS)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Information regarding the aircraft type design\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Drawings and the specifications that show compliance with the certification basis<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dimensions, materials and airframe manufacturing process<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Airworthiness limitations specified for the continuing airworthiness of the aircraft<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Other limitations or conditions on the aircraft type design<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Statement of Compliance comparing the airworthiness and environmental standards applied by the State of Design those applied by Thailand<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading is-style-caat-heading-underline\"><strong>Procedure<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Application Submission<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The aircraft owner or possessor submits the application along with supporting documents to CAAT.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Application Review<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The application package will be reviewed by the assigned staff to ensure compliance will all applicable regulations.<br><em><strong>Remark:<\/strong>&nbsp;The issuance of the Letter of Validation of TC or STC will be cancelled if additional documents found to be missing or incorrect within 30 days after CAAT request.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Preparation of Package<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The certificate package will be prepared and submitted to DG for approval.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Approval Process<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The certificate is signed upon satisfactory evidence of compliance with applicable regulations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Inform Approval<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The applicant is informed of the approval and receives the Letter of Validation of TC or STC.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading is-style-caat-heading-underline\">Approval Duration<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Issuance of the Letter of Validation of TC or STC must be completed within 25 working days.<br><em><strong>Remark:&nbsp;<\/strong>Validation duration does not include applicant\u2019s document correction period.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading is-style-caat-heading-underline\">Letter of Validation of TC or STC&nbsp;Fee<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Issuance the Letter of Validation of TC or STC is free.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2
