เมื่อวันที่ 14 พฤษภาคม 2568 ที่ผ่านมา พลอากาศเอก มนัท ชวนะประยูร ผู้อำนวยการสำนักงานการบินพลเรือนแห่งประเทศไทย (CAAT) ได้เข้าพบ Mr.Christopher Rocheleau รักษาการผู้อำนวยการสำนักงานการบินพลเรือนแห่งสหรัฐอเมริกา (Federal Aviation Authority, FAA) และผู้บริหารของ FAA ที่รับผิดชอบการตรวจสอบด้านความปลอดภัย ณ สำนักงานใหญ่ FAA กรุงวอชิงตัน ดี.ซี. สหรัฐอเมริกา
การประชุมครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อกระชับความร่วมมือด้านความปลอดภัยทางการบิน และหารือแนวทางการเตรียมความพร้อมสำหรับการเปิดเส้นทางบินตรงระหว่างประเทศไทยและสหรัฐอเมริกาในอนาคต ซึ่งจะนับเป็นก้าวสำคัญในการเชื่อมโยงการเดินทางระหว่างสองประเทศ และส่งเสริมความสามารถในการแข่งขันของอุตสาหกรรมการบินไทยในระดับโลก
นอกจากนี้ Mr. Rocheleau ยังได้แสดงเจตนารมณ์ในการสนับสนุนประเทศไทยอย่างเต็มที่ ในการเตรียมรับการตรวจสอบด้านการกำกับดูแลความปลอดภัยจากองค์การการบินพลเรือนระหว่างประเทศ (ICAO) ภายใต้โครงการตรวจสอบ Universal Safety Oversight Audit Programme (USOAP) ซึ่งมีกำหนดจะดำเนินการในช่วงปลายเดือนสิงหาคมนี้
การหารือครั้งนี้สะท้อนถึงบทบาทเชิงรุกของ CAAT ในฐานะหน่วยงานกำกับดูแลกิจการการบินพลเรือนของไทย ที่มุ่งมั่นยกระดับมาตรฐานความปลอดภัย และเสริมสร้างความร่วมมือระหว่างประเทศ เพื่อสร้างความเชื่อมั่นให้กับสายการบิน ผู้โดยสาร และพันธมิตรทั่วโลก พร้อมผลักดันให้ประเทศไทยก้าวสู่ศูนย์กลางการบินในภูมิภาคอย่างมั่นคงและยั่งยืน

CAAT Meets with FAA to Strengthen Aviation Safety Cooperation and Prepare for Future Thailand–U.S. Direct Flights
On May 14, 2025, Air Chief Marshal Manat Chavanaprayoon, Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT), met with Mr. Christopher Rocheleau, Acting Administrator of the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), along with senior FAA officials responsible for safety oversight, at the FAA Headquarters in Washington, D.C., United States.
The meeting aimed to reinforce bilateral cooperation in aviation safety and discuss readiness for the potential establishment of direct air routes between Thailand and the United States. Such a development would mark a significant milestone in enhancing connectivity between the two countries and strengthening the global competitiveness of Thailand’s aviation industry.
Mr. Rocheleau also reaffirmed the FAA’s support for Thailand as it prepares for the upcoming Universal Safety Oversight Audit Programme (USOAP) conducted by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), scheduled for late August this year.
This engagement highlights CAAT’s proactive role as a regulatory body committed to raising aviation safety standards and fostering international collaboration. Through such efforts, CAAT continues to build confidence among airlines, passengers, and global stakeholders—paving the way for Thailand to emerge as a sustainable and resilient aviation hub in the region.
